Description
In the market for a new house? How about a listed, 14th century cottage with a rare stone spiral staircase amongst other awesome medieval features? Oh, it also happens to be the birthplace of one Harry Potter.
De Vere House in Lavenham, Suffolk, was featured in the Deathly Hallows Part One Harry Potter movie, and was the setting where the young wizard was born and his parents subsequently killed by Lord Voldemort. It formed part of Godric’s Hollow in the Harry Potter movie, and was seen with a Christmas tree in the window, opposite a fictional graveyard that had been superimposed with CGI.
However the house itself is very much real, and it’s been on the market for some time now, as the estate agents say it is yet to find a buyer “it deserves”.
Interested? Well, there’s good news, since a whopping £45,000 has been knocked off the asking price. At the time of writing, it’s now listed at £950,000, down from £995,000. That’s GBP, by the way.
