The geekiest Sheldon Cooper T-Shirts (and where to get them)

Dr. Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory is the king of the nerds. There is no denying that. He also has an exquisitely brilliant and seemingly infinite selection of nerdy t-shirts at his disposal.

Sheldon does short sleeved t-shirts with bright colours and bold designs, based on a variety of subjects. Most notably science, (of course!) history and superheroes. There are A LOT of tees to choose from, and we’ve picked our favourites here as well as where you can pick up your own.

Red Lightning Bolt T-Shirt

One of the most famous t-shirts worn by Dr. Cooper over the tenure of The Big Bang Theory is the bright red lightning bolt t-shirt. This made a number of appearances, and is inspired by the DC Comics Flash superhero. It features a lightning bolt on a white circle on a red backdrop, with a slight worn/grunge overlay. It’s available on Amazon below.

TV Pattern T-Shirt

The pattern on this t-shirt has also made a number of appearances on the show, and what many may not realise is that this design is based on the TV test cards used to test and configure TV signals in the United States. Such cards were used when a station was still transmitting but no specific TV program was on. Pretty cool and totally nerdy – no wonder it was a Sheldon favourite! It’s here on TeePublic. (Just select the Purple colour)

TV Pattern T-Shirt 2

If purple isn’t your color, we also have this cool blue test pattern that Sheldon also wore on the show. He must really have liked test card patterns for TV signals!

Red Robotic Evolution

From ape to cyborg. It’s the evolution of man, only with a nerdy, robotic twist. This simple design is another awesome addition to the collection.

Green Lantern

One of Sheldon’s favorite DC Comics superheroes is Green Lantern, and is frequently seen sporting a bold green Green Lantern logo with a grunge, distressed overlay.

Wesley Crushers

During the height of the rivalry between Sheldon and Wil Wheaton, this hilarious design made an appearance. It is, of course, the name of Sheldon’s bowling team, and borrowed its name from Wheaton’s Star Trek character, Wesley Crusher. (Note the tee we link to isn’t an actual bowling t-shirt. It’s a regular tee with the same design printed on it.)

Violet Lantern

This bold purple design is classic nerd. A reference to one of the DC Comic book world’s more obscure storylines.

Melting Rubiks Cube

This tee didn’t make an appearance until most of the way through season 5 and then again in season 6. Despite its fleeting appearances, the melting Rubiks Cube quickly became a favourite and one of the most sought after designs.

The Man Bot

One of Sheldon’s favourite tees was the man bot, which he worn several times in various colours throughout the show’s run.

Sheldon’s 73 T-Shirt

It is no secret that Sheldon just loves the number 73. He wears this tee in the 73rd episode as well as a number of other times in both navy blue and cyan. Also, actor Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon, was born in 1973. The tee features the number 73 on cream circle with a distressed, grunge overlay.

Red Dinosaur

It’s the king of the Mesozoic era himself, Mr. T-Rex. A great choice for all those Sheldon Cooper fans out there that also have a soft spot for giant, man-eating creatures.
